Consultation for residential development
Thank you for your useful comments and feedback on the concept proposals for residential development on land to the rear of The Hollow, Derby.
It is clear from the responses that traffic, capacity within local schools and getting doctor’s appointments are local issues of concern, along with the loss of green areas. We have listened to these concerns and the development proposals will respond to them.
In further developing plans for the site, traffic generation will be assessed, and highway improvements made where needed. The emphasis will be on ensuring that the site is well connected to public transport routes with improvements for cycling and walking locally to reduce the impact on roads.
Where additional capacity in local schools or GP surgeries is required because of new development, financial contributions are agreed with the public authorities to ensure that services are not further stretched.
As part of designing a layout for the site, public green spaces will be incorporated and existing public routes improved, to ensure that a network of high quality and useable green areas and naturalised habitats are provided for local people to use and enjoy.
Your feedback will be used to inform the detail of the proposed development.
The project team are commencing preparation of the application plans and documents with submission to Derby City Council anticipated in the winter.

Timescale and Deadline
We kindly asked for comments to be received by 9th October 2023 and the project team are now preparing the application.
